Paper #2 Proposal

I would like to use Rabbit, Run as my main text and through it examine the institute of marriage. I would like to use Updike’s novel to promote, in context to the rest of life on this planet, the absurdity of a monogamous relationship. We put a huge strain on married couples and quickly assign blame when something fails within them. I would like to use Rabbit as an example of the struggle of man to overcome animal instincts.
