Rabbit, Run Post #1
The why the story is told in Rabbit, Run makes it easier to read for me. I get lost in the fact that there are no chapter references. Which I prefer because I feel that all the drama and suspense created in In Cold Blood sets up a nice story but still distinces me from the actual book. Rabbit, Run makes me seem more as if I'm almost reading a journal or just a long almost autobiographical passage. In Cold Blood always maintained a level of aloof suspense. Capote definitely wanted the reader to have to pay attention to foreshadowing. In Rabbit, Run I vaguely think about foreshadowing but I more or less just let the story play itself out.
