Rabbit, Run Post 2
I am not exactly sure why Updike wrote this book. All I can assume is that Updike used this book as an escape for his own personal issues. People sometimes use more detached ways to vent their frustrations and it seems like this is what Updike has chosen to do. I think that as a writer, he would want his readers to understand from his story that running away from problems is not the way to solve things. This is such a simple thing that everyone knows, yet nobody wants to face up to. You will always end up with other problems; running away from one will never guarantee that life will then be problem free.
