Paper #1 Proposal

I have found news articles of six brutal murders that occurred in Florida in August 2004, though the cases have just come to trial this week. Troy Victorino (27), convinced three 18-year olds to assist him when he kicked in the door of a house, occupied by six people while they were sleeping. The four suspects stabbed and beat to death (with baseball bats) all six people and a pet dog.
There are many similarities in this murder and those in In Cold Blood. The media has pointed out the senselessness of the murder, it's basis of rage, the brutality of the murders, how Victorino was abused as a child, his lack of self-respect, and his criminal history.
This is where the similarities end. Although the authors have written about Victorino's abusive childhood history, they have not tried to evoke a sense of sympathy from the reader.
I would like to compare the vast differences between the portrayal of Perry by Capote and Victorino by the contributing authors in these articles, and their effect on the reader.

This sounds good. You'll want to make sure you clearly distinguish between the differences and similarities in the facts of the two cases and the differences and similarities in the portrayals.
