Paper Proposal #1

For my paper I would like to relate In Cold Blood to the murder of Tiffany Sours. Specifically, the differences in how the media portrays murder cases and how Capote portrayed the murder of the Clutter family. Capote was able to make the audience almost feel sorry for the murderers Dick and Perry; he supplied an ample amount of background information on these two characters. In the Sours case, the murderer Jerry Buck Inman was viewed negatively by the media.
Articles about this case include some background information about Tiffany but not very much about Inman. Inman was usually described as a previous sexual offender released from prison. Overall, these two cases were definitely portrayed differently yet have some similarities.
