i did not really like the movie. even though is was only an hour and a half i thought it moved along very slowly. the movie was filled with lots of different conflicts, as are most modern movies and text. in todays fast paced world books and movies have to be filled with conflict to keep the reader/viewer interested, with usually the resolution to the largest conflict being the climax of the movie. you can have internal conflict, like Johnny trying to decide whether or not he wants the baby. you can also have external conflict either between individuals or groups of people. there is a conflict with marleine trying to fit in with george's family since she is from a big city.
the resolution to the conflict in a movie can be a very important storytelling tool. if the director leaves the confilct unresolved that can let the viewer imagine what will happen or it can also be used to make way for a sequel.
